Hi, I received a pcn letter previously for a parking fine for not paying at a pay and display in a pub carpark back in 2020. Wasn't actually me driving it was my partner but either way had no idea that a ticket needed to be purchased the ticket machine is at the back of the car park, she parked directly as you come in and just didn't look for a sign, didn't realise there would be one as thought it was the pubs land.
At the time she was very early pregnant and having a bit of a panic in the evening as she didn't know the area and was looking for a temporary accommodation property to collect the keys. She was in and out very quickly.
Anyway we haven't acknowledged it was us, haven't replied at all but now have this letter. Not long after the vehicle in question was written off and we moved into the new temporary accommodation hence not even getting a letter until now...
I don't want to pay it. In fact I can't pay it. Is there anyway of getting out of this? Please help thankyou in advance

Oh read the IMPORTANT info in the yellow box at top of the page.Proposed Legal ProceedingsClaimant: xxxxxx xxxxxxxx LtdI refer to your your letter of claim.I confirm that my address for service for the time being - assuming you don't faff about and delay any claim - is as follows, and any older address must be erased from your records:[Correct address here]The alleged debt is disputed and any court proceedings will be vigorously defended.."
The bit I'm confused about is who or how I send it to the court. I have the claim form. I'm just unsure if I email it to the court etc. I don't know if my brain is cut out for all the information.0 -
Nope. You were advised to read the Small Claim section (not the letter before claim).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I done my online response and email to the court on 14th April. I have received this letter today 7th may, no phone call for mediation no questionnaire? Worried I'm missing something.0

Next step is that the Claimant will write to you stating they intend to proceed.
From that point keep following the checklist you were using when you filed a Defence.2 -
Hi dcbl legal keep calling me but it's a automotive voice that says its dcb legal and I hold the line for ages and it just rings and rings and rings... always when I'm at work so I end up having to hang up after over 10 mins waiting for someone to answer. I haven't had a mediation call yet, could this be it? Do I call them back or just keep hoping one day when they call someone actually is on the other end of the phone!0
