Not receiving verification code

I'm trying to sign in on the MSE page (not forums) and it's asking me to put email & password in. I have forgotten the password but it will not send me a verification code.
Any suggestions?

Where is the code sent to ?  email or phone? Check correct email address, check spam folders, check correct phone number, ensure phone is in credit, check messages in phone.

Email, it's not in spam. Correct email address.

Are you sure you have an MSE account (as distinct from a Forum account)?  

If you try to register a new account using that email address, does it let you?
