Are there any pay as you go deals for light users that you don't have to top up every month?
Every one I've tried are ok at the start then they end up wanting you to have to use your phone or lose your credit.
It ends up that you have to pay £60 a year whether you have used it or not.

I accept that you can't have a phone for virtually nothing, but is there something out there cheaper?

Today, I topped up the 20p O2 Classic SIM card I got from eBay with £10. Aside from having to make a call or send a text every 6 months, I don't think there's any ongoing top-up requirement. I'm on a £1/month contract at the moment but I might PAC to it after that.

PHK is “spot on”. Expecting networks to provide a facility for virtually zero cost is not realistic.

For £10, or less, per month, and without a contract, you can make virtually unlimited UK calls, use a huge amount of data, and roam all over Europe too.

    £10 is 3 pints of beer a month…

I certainly don't expect it, but I'm happy O2 Classic still does.

I don't expect something for nothing but if you rarely use your phone, I don't want to be forced to pay at least £60 a years whether I use it or not.

I've bought a sim off Ebay as was recommended on here so hoping that's the one to suit me.
