The Easter weekend is coming up, and this week we'd like to know how your spending on chocolates, decorations and other seasonal items compares to last year.

As we've previously heard on the Forum, it's not just youngsters who enjoy seasonal confectionery at this time of year.

Or maybe rather than spending on prepared foods, you'll be making your own Easter biscuits or other tasty treats?

I got in very early for Easter Eggs with a good offer 😂 I never buy anything specific food wise, the odd packet of hot cross buns, but we just have the regular meal we would have on a Sunday for example 🐣

I do nothing different to what I would do usually shopping wise as having had Easter Eggs shoved in my face in some shops since Boxing day, it's a non-essential commercial pushing spend that doesn't get a look in for me, personally. I do, however, stick to the Christian conventional meaning of Easter and go to 2 church services over the Easter weekend. Wishing everyone a great Easter! xxxx

I’m trying to give up sugary things but I love mini-eggs so I decided to treat myself to a bag. But there was a special offer if you bought two bags - what to do?? I bought two, and gave one to a friend. That was the sum total of my Easter-related spending.

I got a few Easter decorations (with a view to lasting a long time) in the sales last year which have been nice to put out this year.
When my DD became older (last year of primary) she was more upset to learn ‘the truth’ about the Easter Bunny than the Christmas truth.
I think it was because with the family we did more at Easter and I always looked out for the best chocolate offers.
Now apart from the veg offers that I have taken full advantage of, DD prefers a voucher to her favourite coffee place so I always do that.
Sadly the one relative who did like an Easter egg and was spoilt by the family passed away last year so this year has been quite rough with a change in some family traditions.

I normally buy either one for myself and MD and SFD etc, this year I bought a really small one for £1.35, I was either going to give it myself or to My room mate, in the end I gave it to the delivery guy because he had kindly carried my heavy vegetable laden groceries in! So I am without an easter egg this year, however before I became as tight with money I had had a few rounds of creme eggs and mini eggs!
    I am trying to make £260 in prolific and other sources by 31st May 2025 - I have £146.58 / £260 which is 56%
