Boilerjuice Boilerjuice ...

Don't say it three times in a row!
I had a quote from Boilerjuice today, for 600 litres of residential heating oil, 30 minutes to decide and the lowest cot £458.98 (delivery by 30th April).

I called Johnston Oils, who quoted £382.47, with delivery by 29th April.

I placed the order with Johnston Oils and learned a valuable lesson about Boilerjuice.

I hope this helps.

On Sunday I was chatting to someone who works for BoilerJuice who told me that they were selling it at around 46p-50p litre in North Cambridgeshire although I dont know if that included VAT or was for higher quantities.

In general, when there is slack, boilerjuice can price well.  When there is little or no slack, they are more expensive.

Only in that when pricing heating oil you contact multiple suppliers and find the cheapest price at a delivery time that suits you. Sometimes the cheapest will be Boilerjuice, sometimes it won't.

So calling out Boilerjuice is not really relevant

My local supplier is quoting today £323.13 inc VAT for delivery by 23rd April, which may or may not be a lesson on Johnston Oils if they both cover the same area (probably not though).

Always, always, always ring round the suppliers and get competitive quotes.

Heating Oil Prices from homefuels gives free County by County 'average' numbers
The heating oil club — Get a quote gives a more accurate number with no need to give identifying e-mail etc.,.  as does Fuel Tool - Independent Home Heating Oil Price Comparison

The price seems to be dropping.  I need to check levels and estimate how much will fill my tank as my Watchman has been flashing two bars at me for the last 4 weeks.
I've  not seen it under 50p+vat yet for Bedfordshire (I check most mornings).

These were the costs quoted and I didn't ask either supplier for a specific delivery date. Boilerjuice automatically provided five quotes however, and if I'd opted for delivery in two days, that would have been £559.88.

    I'm just stating facts.

I have found in recent years ringing around to not be worth it. Rarely find any will drop below their online quotes so reduces the effort required as only takes 10 minutes to do all the online quotes.

But agree that getting as many quotes as you can is a must.

My "panel" of suppliers is Boilerjuice, NRG Conquest, Bedford Fuels and Goff. For the last year Boilerjuice has always been cheapest (usually with Bedford as the supplier!), although only a few ££ in it last order

Boilerjuice has often been cheapest for me over the last 4 years of ordering, but not always. My last two orders have been through Certas, albeit one direct from Certas and one through Home Fuels Direct.

I just ordered 800 ltr for £424.12 inc VAT. But Boilerjuice were only £20 more. Certas direct were over £100 more!

I considered waiting to see if there are further drops, but I missed the low last year, and I'm quite comfortable at 53ppl. I just need to stop checking now so I don't see if it drops

I get 10 quotes, 5 on-line 5 over the phone, when I last bought the 5 on-line were the dearest. The cheapest phone was over £40 cheaper than the cheapest on-line.
