Hi.
not sure if this should be a new thread? Can it be merged with my other thread if not??
So.... I am helping my brother sort out his horrendous finances. We have just had success in getting one recent default removed. I am now looking at the credit cards he has had with Creation -
He has 4 cards with Creation and in 2017 he had a combined balance of around £12000. He contacted Creation in July 2017 and explained that he was struggling with his mental health etc, and they agreed to put his account on hold. This meant that he wasn't required to make any payment, however he did maintain the minimum payments, albeit with no interest added. This has continued since 2017. On a few occasions he has been asked to update his position but nothing regular. This means that he has been on an arrangement to pay for nearly 8 years.
Had the cards defaulted back in 2017/18, the accounts would have fallen off his credit file by now and this would mean that he would be in a better position. Is there any scope for us to complain to creation and ask them to issue a backdated default for 2017/18?0 -

In terms of this the answer is almost certainly no, but considering the success on the other one why not give it a go.

I have already cleared the arrears and will clear the remaining balance when the default is no longer on his credit file.
is that the best use of your money? You may be able to use the same amount to make settlement offers on much larger older debts eg the Creation ones0 -
