I did it through the HMRC. I went on NI record, then check to see if you can pay gaps online. I could not and then it had a form to request a call back from the future pensions center.Dazed_and_C0nfused said:Johndonuts said:jem16 said:Johndonuts said:Sorry I realise I have confused the issue. Future Pension Centre is nothing to do with HMRC, it is part of DWP.
https://www.gov.uk/future-pension-centreI still requested the call through HMRC, so if it is the DWP calling and hanging up, or not calling, there is still an issue. Might not be a scam, but you still have to be careful, because some texts or calls could be a scam. The main issue was not receiving a call back, a lot of people will miss out paying gap years if they don't get the call. That is happening. I have also read that someone received a call, but it hung up.I think you would best argue all day with a mirror, rather than obsessively posting here to argue and doubt like you are judge and jury.0 -
To anyone having difficulties paying gap years in their state pension due to either not receiving a callback from the DWP or you are having problems with calls which cut off and you are worried about missing out - please call the future pensions department 08007310175 They will tell you which years you can pay, how much those years cost and then they will put you through to HMRC who will give you payment options. I have just done this and paid for my missing years.Hope this will help someone.3

I've kind of given up. Maybe not the attitude but there's no logical system in place for these DWP callbacks and the process is so convoluted. I cannot live my life with my mobile phone glued to my ear between 8.00 a.m.-6.00 p.m. waiting for a call, with no idea of when it might arrive. Especially as they only try twice.
I did have a call from DWP, on 23 April, after receiving a text on 14 April to say they would ring the next day. (They hadn't.) I thought, 'this is it', but it wasn't. I gave my NI number, my DOB, and was then told that someone would ring in the future after they'd looked at my record, to advise on which missing gaps I could pay. Couldn't they have done that on the same phone call?
It's as some here have suggested: DWP don't want to talk. Clearly, they don't want my money!
It seems to be a case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing.

definitely call yourself Mrs sue since you've had the first call. Tell them that and the advisor will help.
Next stage will be hmrc - if anyone is about to phone them and you'll be paying class 2 self employment conts when the automated voice asks what your query is say "class 2 contributions" or something like that in your answer. I just said something like 'advice on voluntary payment of missing conts' and got through the class 3 folks. She checked a few things then put me through but I could have saved a bit time if I'd told them more info and got through to correct person first.
I've now spoken to 3 people at hmrc, 2 at dwp and all have been fine, the hmrc especially as the dwp people were only telling me what I'd already seen on my record really but the info by hmrc has been accurate giving me a specific wording to go look at more info then working out what conts I can pay. Class 2 are updating in 56 weeks at the moment as they have been inundated but class 3 should show in 8 weeks on your record. (I bet the class 2 will be quicker than that)22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈 Never save something for a special occasion. Every day is a special occasion. Hi I've been waiting for a call back from DWP for already 8 weeks, actually today is the last day of 8 weeks wait since I registered for a call back. I haven't got even a text massage yet and feel so worried.
Is anyone still waiting for a text after 8 weeks passed like me?
Please someone give me some advice what I should do tomorrow, assuming I won't receive anything by the end of today.0 -
I wonder if the first call is to weed out some people - some will say they've already got it sorted, some will say they don't need a call any more, some will have put down a wrong phone number etc so it saves an expert's time doing that. Cheaper to pay a more clerical member of staff to do the first call and check perhaps

I'd like to share it with people here who are in trouble with getting 18 digit number(s) from HMRC for pension back payments.
Today I phoned Future Pension Centre. My call was diverted to "Prosper Wealth Management" whatever it is, a very kind and polite gentleman there answered in 28 minutes time. I explained that I had waited for a call back for 8 weeks but it didn't come. He didn't even check if I was on the call back waiting list, just looked into my NI details straight away and told me my pension would be better off by £XX.XX if I filled all the gaps which I'd already known. He asked me if I wanted to pay to fill the gaps for the pre-deadline rates which I said yes.
Then to my surprise he put me through to HMRC telephone line and after only 5 minutes wait my call was answered by another kind and polite this time a lady. I talked with her and she gave me two 18 digit numbers so that I could pay separately!! I have 31 days to pay and it could take up to 8 weeks to show my payment online.
It was much easier than I anticipated. Feel so relieved now. So if you didn't receive any call back and feel like you're stuck in the dark place, don't give up, just ring them.3
