Call FPS 0800 731 0175, have you not received a text with hat number quoted ?0
-
No text, just a voice mail saying they'd tried to call and a missed call from that number. I got a text on April 30 saying they'd received my request and that I did not need to contact them but that's it.0

I also had a series of missed calls from different mobile numbers on the day I got the voice mail, but none of them seem to exist when I tried to call back.0

Oh also I forgot to say that I tried to call this number multiple times but after going through the menus I get cut off.molerat said:Call FPS 0800 731 0175, have you not received a text with hat number quoted ?0 -
And I just literally received a text (at 18:06) telling me that I have a month to call, but when I try to call the number it says it is closed and I should go online. If I had been able to do this online in the first place I would have!0

I did finally get through but the maximum amount I can pay is nearly £9,000! Can you pay in installments?0
-
That's all down to your actual situation. You must pay for a year as a whole. If you are on an Apr 2025 extension to either year availability and prices then you need to pay within 31 days. If you have an 18 digit code then that applies to the whole amount. So many variables to your question.ManderLists said:I did finally get through but the maximum amount I can pay is nearly £9,000! I finally managed to talk to someone at HMRC and they said that basically I can't pay in installments because it has to be completed within 31 days. I guess I must be on an extension, as you say, because I originally tried to call back in February IIRC.
So now I have my 18 digit code and I just have to pull the trigger, but now I'm feeling slightly paranoid that I somehow managed to get through to a scammer. Just nerves from paying out pretty much all of my savings in one go I guess.0 -
As long as you're paying it to HMRC, you're not being scammed. You should be able to check their bank account details on the gov.uk website.ManderLists said:

I couldn't seem to find that anywhere but maybe I was looking in the wrong place.0
