    Typical response from a PPC:

"You broke our rules, pay up!"

    "No I didn't, here's my proof"

"Oh actually you broke a different rule and because you didn't pay up immediately you now owe us even more."

They will say whatever they want to justify their PCN.
I do get it and its unbelievable what they will try, but they won't get any money out of me and will have to take me to court and I will fight my case.
I feel for people who just pay up without realising how ruthless PPC  can be and no understanding of their rights,  a few years ago I would have just paid the fine.
I also intend to raise a complaint with the law society, BW legal should have at the very least looked at the information provided to them by the PPC and should not take on cases when the evidence is false or blatantly inaccurate.  it would have taken them 2 minutes to realise this. if they had bothered to look at the information sent to them by GXS  So they are complicit in supporting PPC to extort money from motorists and should be held accountable for this too.
look maybe I am being naïve I don't know
    always happy to be corrected

RESULT - so they were totally confused about why they had issued me with the PCN - wrong number plate or not putting the correct ticket on the dashboard.
Further to your email, upon an investigation of your PCN, I can see you have entered your registration
incorrectly, I have cancelled the PCN. If you are unable to remember your vehicle registration, it may be worth
taking a picture on your phone, this will help to remind you when purchasing a parking session both at this
    location or any other.
Please be aware, any future contraventions of a similar nature, will not be successful on appeal.

Thank you for your guidance much appreciated - I am still going to complain to the SRA

    What do you think?

sorry couldn't resist being slightly sarcastic but will take out if you think its too antagonist

Thank you for confirming that the PCN was not issued due to a keying error?

You have stated that the PCN was issued because I purchased a parking ticket from an on street local authority machine NOT the ticket machine within your car park

Please refer to the evidence attached:

Picture of the ticket I purchased from your machine and displayed on my car's dashboard

Confirmation from your pictures that the ticket was clearly displayed on my dashboard and one of your tickets purchased from your machine

Pictures of other tickets on vehicles in your car park displaying the same tickets purchased from your onsite car park machine

Picture of a ticket from the local authority machine

You will clearly see from the evidence attached that this is one of your tickets from your machine and bears no resemblance to the local authority tickets purchased which clearly have the local authority logo on them and do not require you to input your registration number.

To avoid this happening to other motorists you might want to consider putting your logo on the tickets issued from your machine to avoid any confusion in the future

I strongly advise that you cancel this ticket immediately and cease any further action against me or I will involve my MP, the DVLA and the IPC in an escalated complaint.  I will also pursue you for damages

Can you also please confirm that I have exhausted your complaint process?

    That'll do nicely.
