Santander no longer paying cashback for Octopus Gas & Electricity, Hopefully being resolved?

    My DD went out 15/04 under the new originator ID Go Cardless and I was paid my 2% cashback today on my 123 Lite.

    Response from Santander Customer Services:

    I'm sorry we are aware that some customers have not received part of their cashback payment as expected recently. These are customers who hold a qualifying account and who currently have an active direct debit payment to the energy company Octopus. We are in the process of identifying all impacted customers and will be arranging any shortfall in their cashback payment, to be made as soon as possible.

  • I have just found out about this change, on calling Santander I have been given the same explanation as previously stated.  Do we know if there is any possibility that this will change or do we accept now that cashback from Octopus is a lost cause?

    Read the thread. The cashback is being paid and Santander will make back payments for any cashback that has not been paid.

    Santander have said this morning:

    we have now resolved the issue and customers will now receive cashback from 4th april

    Had ours as normal on 27th too, not actually had any change as far as I'm aware, but we are 'end of the month' and the DD for us only changed this month, so it looks like it is fixed, going forward at least.

    Sister's DD went out 3rd April under the new Go Cardless DD and her cashback hasn't been paid today for Octopus. She's contacting them now, as was expecting it considering Santander have stated that the issue was solved.

    I had the same letter, but maybe they aren't aware or haven't been updated that Santander have stated by others that cashback will be backdated for missed cashback.
