Negotiating with Plusnet

My minimum term is just up with Plusnet. I cancelled down the contract after they offered a higher speed at a slightly higher price than I pay now for Full Fibre 74. Speed is not an issue but price is (the 74mbs is more than adequate). Plusnet are quite rigid in their offers but with my last contract I managed to get them down abit, got no price increase in year 1 of a 2 year contract and a £75 pre paid gift card. No luck this time.
Has anyone got a "deal" from Plusnet this year? I use the word deal sparingly. Many thanks for any helpful replies.

If they are offering a higher speeds, is FTTP is available ? , otherwise how can a higher speed be available, you may find that incentives , if any are available, revolve around getting FTTP and better speed , rather than a reduced price and staying on copper /hybrid FTTC
You can check if WBC FTTP from Openreach is available at your address here

Full fibre 74 is one of their FTTP offers.0

The OP states they were offered faster speeds than what they currently get from FTTC , I’m perfectly aware FTTC and FTTP can both offer F2 , as the OP was offered faster speeds than what they already had , it’s a fair assumption that FTTP is now available , otherwise how can they be offed a faster speed ?, obviously if they offered exactly the same product FTTC F2 how can it also be faster , it can’t , nothing will have changed to provide this increase , my only point is ‘if’ FTTP is available the incentive is to get them off FTTC and onto FTTP m they won’t offer a good deal to remain on FTTC , so the easiest way to get this is to offer the option of a faster connection than FTTC can provide0

It can be read as they are currently on Full Fibre 74 now which would mean they are already on FTTP.

My bad , the OP does state Full Fibre 74 Mb , if they were offered a slightly higher speed , the next tier up is FF100 , which confusingly is 150Mb not 100Mb , so the slight increase is approximately double the speed , but as the OP is happy with 80Mb from F2 ( as they already have full fibre there is no reduction from the headline speed , it’s advertised as 74Mb for the advertising/regulatory authorities benefit ) this 2x increase it’s of little benefit.
If PN won’t budge on price , find a different provider that offers an acceptable price , there is no magic phrase or threat to leave that’s guaranteed to get PN to offer a better deal, a threat to leave may get a better retention type deal or they may not offer anything better and you switch away to someone else0 -
Not interested in the speed as what I have had works fine and Plusnet comes to the table if the service goes down which has happened.
This can happen from vandalism or road works or otherwise general faults
I was paying aprox £27 ...Im now in the first year of a new contract the first month was £24.25 then its £25.99 but will go up next year no doubt ....not sure how much?.
Supposed to get a £75 card in the post but it hasnt arrived yet .
So yes they do offer the £75 this year but Ive yet to receive this although never had issues with getting cards in the past as I have been with plusnet for a long time now .0 -

That’s where a choice needs to be made , personally if the difference in price between my current provider and a cheaper ISP , one that I hadn’t had any personal experience of , was only a few ££ per month , I’d not be risking a switch , but others may have different view , no criticism of those that do go for the cheapest available, taking the view that they ‘are all the same anyway’0

Looks like £100 reward now

Also advised to renew in april paying more for the last month in contract as opposed to renewing in march .0
