It's a generic warning from Barclays. They'd give the same warning if you tried to pay me!

As long as you have got the right bank details for secure trust bank, then the warning can be ignored.

Yup I get the same warning every time I make a payment with the Halifax now, I wouldnt worry about it if the details are correct.

Some people make a small test payment first to ensure the money gets through safely, though this can depend on the receiving account not having a large initial payment requisite.

And some banks immediatly block larger payments initially as they want all sorts of proof first to avoid responsibility for scams.

I visited a Barclays pop in on the advice of the phone banking service. They refused to help in any way and said "it is your choice sir". How have we ended up with the banks being so unhelpful. It is their mess after all!

As long as you are using the genuine bank details provided by Secure Trust then you will be fine. Banks just have that message to protect themselves in case you fall foul of a scam and they can turn around and say you ignored the warning.

I get these warnings all the time, even when transferring between my own accounts, held on the same app/website between Bank of Scotland and Halifax current accounts.
I had two payments for a large sum put on hold earlier this week. The first, to a new ISA account, I could understand. The 2nd was to an easy access account I use all the time. Just a nuisance to have to phone them and wait in a lengthy queue twice. Guess I was just unlucky, as a payment the following day went through absolutely fine, thank goodness.
