Just received an email from Octopus regarding this.

Your smart charging covered with Intelligent Drive Pack
With a little behind-the scenes magic, I’m excited to introduce our Intelligent Drive Pack with your smart charging covered for just £20 a month.
Intelligent Drive Pack pairs with either Flexible Octopus or Octopus Fixed for your home energy (it’s worth noting our Octopus Fixed rates are particularly good value at the moment) and is strictly limited to the first 8,888 customers.
Good to know: our Intelligent Drive Pack comes
with enough charging to cover most Intelligent Octopus Go users, and
includes a generous fair use policy.

I don't drive enough to warrant the £20 Intelligent Drive Pack, plus I charge the house battteries up at night on Intelligent Go which this doesn't cover. As for the fixed, savings aren't that much compared to what I get at the moment. Just 1p off per peak time kWh.0

I'm on the cusp of the Drive pack. Some just over £20, most just under with 2 EV's. So have to take the view it's not worth it for me. Especially given pretty much all are daytime charges, so we save on house use as well.
As to fixing IOgo.
It's only 1p kWh cheaper daytime, for me. So not sure that it is worth the fix. Given a ave daytime usage of under 200 kWh.
Simply do not see enough saving to make it worthwhile for me.Life in the slow lane0 -

Read elsewhere you would need to be doing around 1000 miles per month to break even on the Intelligent Drive Pack.£20 a month that would be the equivalent of 286kWh at 7p/kWh, so at 3.5 miles/kWh that would work out at 1000 miles driving required to break even

Not worth it for me I don’t think.
Last month’s bill was for 333.3kWh, all but 6.9kWh of which was at the 7p overnight rate (making my bill average out at 7.06p/kWh). As we move more and more into the higher solar output months, this will likely get even closer to 7p average and the off-peak usage will drop as there will be little need to charge the house batteries off-peak.
As for the cars, my Tesla is almost always charged from excess solar, and the wife’s PHEV has such a small battery that’s only charged overnight, the drive pack wouldn’t make any sense.0 -
Signed up for Octopus Go fixed for 12 month just for the stability.12 x 370 Watt J A panels Solis 3.6 invertor. Solax AC invertor and 5.8 triple battery0

Existing Intelligent Octopus Go user...I'm interested in Intelligent Octopus go fixed too. I know it's only 1p off the daily rate, but with a hot tub that might be worth it for me.
Out of interest why wouldn't people fix? It's a couple of button presses and gives stability over a year. The only downside I can see, is I'm not sure what tariff you go back on to after the 12 months is up?
What am I missing?0 -
just had the email and wanting to go for the fix, need a bit more information?0
