RTS meter or not an RTS meter

Options
I have a separate meter for gas and my central heating.  This meter is for my electricity only.  It is a 2 rate meter.
My energy provider keep contacting me to tell me that I have an RTS meter and it must be changed to a Smart meter.  I really don’t want one.  However, I did allow them to arrange for the Smart meter engineer to come - apparently he’s independent from an energy company, they just get subcontracted.  He told me that my meter IS NOT an RTS meter and I don’t need it replacing.  My energy company say that it is, but they won’t send any of their employees out to check.
Can anyone clarify?

Whether it is RTS, or not, the meter is well out of its certified life and your supplier is required to change it on that ground alone.

There was a post with a similar question by @Longbow03 here  but not a regular so suspect wont see this hail.

I replied to say didnt really know in their case.

    But not sure ever resolved.

There are as you can see in that thread though other non RTS meters being flagged - possibly because they are dual rate profile class 2 multirate meters and have non standard meter codes (almost anything other than vanilla e7).

That has included old pre smart digital with own preset timers - like my pre smart meter digital meter - after lost rts years ago - and those with old electromechanical clock timers.

Like in his case your dial meter is very old - cert 89 - so 36.  Although if like that user you no longer really use it.

Can you photo the entire set up please.

RTS refers to the communication aspect and is usually a black box - it it this which is being dispensed with

The dial meter isn't used anymore for readings according to another user in the thread I linked.  I guess it might still do total only and the digital does rate 1 and rate 2 and possibly total since it was installed.

I'm not so sure: the bible reports that the Sangamo S200.16's certification period is 40 years, so it's still good for a few more years yet.

Does that apply to a second life? It was made in 1970 and presumably refurbished/recalibrated in 1989.

The certified date is like a best before date, so your well past that.
I am not sure what the issue is with a smart meter?

Even if it needs replacing - they shouldn't be lumping in with genuine RTS.

That as we have read it's entirely unclear what happens after switch off.

And if @longbow03 response in other thread correct the analogue meter isn't used for billing - only the digital.

So begs the question - when was that fitted and how long was that certified - as many modern digital meters only 10 or 15 years.

@Longbow03 had no other box in his cabinet - see link above.

But the rts receiver at a push could be in the plastic dual rate bolt on box.

It would be nice if someone had the company spec for that module.

Wonder if their is a munufacturer / part number on it ?
