I missed both their calls (on a Sunday) but I called them the next day about 9:30am and got through with just a ten minute wait, took their advice about which years I should pay for, received a payment reference number and sent off my payment the next day.0 -

And bearing in mind that the "expert" callback team are a recently constructed phenomenon, if any of us wanted to try to contact them because we feel we have been waiting too long, or are worried we have somehow dropped off the list, what might be the direct number for those experts?0 -
Similar to many of the posts on here I have been chasing the DWP since last November to give me figures to top up my state pension - I am a few years short.
I have spent a lot of time waiting for calls to be answered, text messages that don't materialise into calls etc.
Most recently, I called and they told me they would post the figures to me in in the next 3-4 weeks.
That time has now passed and no letter has arrived.
Time is marching on and I am concerned I will lose my right to claim.
Does anybody on here know how to escalate a case?

No @Waun I don't live abroad.
The system is well and truly broken. Phoned again this morning, was told I had missed the deadline as I did not contact them until June! They have no record of the numerous calls I made but they do have the original letter on file from November2024 so then I was told my case was in pipeline and I just had to wait. Have absolutely no faith in the system at all1 -
I got the 'screening' call from 0800 7310175 over 6 weeks ago, checking my NI number etc and have been expecting the 'proper' call ever since but nothing. Anyone else had a call after such a long gap? I assumed the second call would come soon after the first. Should I be phoning them myself now? I'm less than a year from pension age.1

I had the first call from the same number on 12th May - the woman just took my name, NI, dob, and explained that this was just for information gathering to enable my query to be directed to the correct dept. (I am over pension age). I then had a 2nd phone call from the same number a couple of weeks later but was in the shower at the time so couldn't answer. I have heard nothing since but as I have had a lot of medical appointments I have not yet followed up but hopefully after this week I will have some free days to do so.2

Like many others very frustrated with this system. I could not pay online and could not get to speak to anyone. I registered for the callback. On 14th April got a text to say I would get a call ... nothing the next day but did get a call on 16th. Gave info then nothing.... about 3 weeks later no text but a further call asking for exactly the same info which I again provided and advised that I had previously given this.... Nothing further. I am going to try and call the line again early tomorrow but this is a joke..... are people still receiving calls?0

Yay - received a letter today detailing what years I can pay and the difference it will make to my pension (started in 2021). It came as a bit of a surprise as I only had one brief phone call weeks ago to confirm NI and DOB and was expecting another phone call for further details. I do have to contact HMRC to confirm so I will try today but in all likelihood it will be an early morning phone call (early for me at least) next week. Thanks to the help received on this forum, and my own calculations, I have the cash put to one side for this purpose as it matches the letter all bar a few pennies.0

Well, amazingly I got through to HMRC within 10 minutes and now have the reference number and details to pay. Just have to transfer the cash now and then wait for my pension to be updated.1
