I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's situation, Valli - fingers crossed that the social worker and dementia nurses can help quickly. It doesn't make for a good relationship between you/your dad/your sister and the home where mum is currently. (((Hugs))) for you all xxxx
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your new job, round x
How was the first night of your Beloved's play, HB?
eltee and Jazee, you are in top flying form! xx
Enjoy your weekend visitors, Fayolle. I'm pleased to hear you had a day out with your DH this week, doing nothing in particular - retirement is obviously suiting you x
I have walked a lot this week, especially around Merry H€!! on Thursday and delivering Easter leaflets from church yesterday evening, and overnight my left foot came out in sympathy with my right shoulderso I need to take things a bit easier today.
Things that must be done:
- portion, label and freeze the SC pork that I cooked overnight
- load the DW
- S&S the kitchen
- walk Rosie (just a short one - she had a good run in the woods yesterday with L and her pack)
- feed and water us as and when necessary - for the record, I managed to avoid the hot cross buns first thing this morning
Things I'd like to achieve:
- make a cake or some special biscuits for DD and family - we're meeting them next week in Cambridge, which is roughly equidistant from our homes, though nothing like halfway between as the crow flies!! However, DGS1 wants to see round some of the colleges before completing his uni application, and Cambridge fits in well with our planned visits to DH's cousins in Hertfordshire and two lots of friends in Peterborough
- finish the filing in my study (some of the admin has resulted in more, not less, of the paperwork that I need to keep)
- sort by year/person the photos that are spread all over the spare bed (i.e. the ones that came out of the Trunk of Treasure) combined with the ones that I'd already sorted (i.e. from the boxes of loose pics) that are currently spread all over the spare bed
- look through the rest of the 35mm slides whilst sitting in front of the TV this evening.
Better get moving, then! (((Hugs))) and spoons to all in need xxx

(((Hugs))) Valli. It went well Ionafan in that no-one bumped into the furniture or forgot their lines. I think the cast (and Belovéd) were hoping for a slightly more engaged audience in that they didn't laugh at the jokes very much, and even more strangely they didn't applaud the cast members singing. Feedback afterwards was full of the right words but it would be, because they were mostly friends. I think we were a bit thrown by that. Hoping for a stronger reaction tonight.Have watered the plants I'm nurturing and hoping that the forecasted rain actually happens because everything is so dry. It's been six weeks without any meaningful rainfall and this is usually a very wet part of the year. Now to finish the bits of dusting I didn't get round to during the week and polish the bathroom mirrors. It'll all need titivating on Monday prior to an arrival but at least it's all been cleaned this week.
Better is good enough.5 -

While I was out there (WM & TD live in the garage), I unexpectedly & inexplicably decluttered, cleaned & organised the 'utility room' area, so I can tick that off my toots list 😇
