Try the oldies club
they deal with lots of rescues across the country and will be able to help you choose - they also ask for a lot of info about the dog where possible to help make sure people can work out early on if this is a dog suitable for them
I don't think they deal with rescues that don't neuter or spay before rehoming (barring some medical cases) and a slightly older dog that is used to younger kids would be a very good starting point I think
If you go through RSPCA they do their own insurance too which you geta discount on if you have an RSPCA dog
Very good cover (had to use ours already!) but definitely more than a few £s! Pay for a good cover - it's worth it! Think mine is £8-9 a month for the dog (and I got cashback from quidco too lol) and her insurance covers the top plan which means the cover is per condition - for the life of the dog. Always read the T&Cs tho

thats brilliant!
our rescue puppy came to us when she was 4 months old and because she was abandoned and most of her life was lived outside she already knew where to go to the toilet! Of course we had a few accidents because she wasnt sure where the door was etc but she loves being outside so she got the hang of it really quickly.
Shes a brilliant doggie! I hope you have as much joy with your new member of the family as we are!
take care! xI'm getting married in August 2015:j0 -

this particular rescue dog `cookie` is 5 years old, about the size of a large jack russel, good with kids and housetrained.
she is a scruffy looking dog but thats a very endearing quality.
we have seen some springer spaniel pups in the local paper but we have to go through the whole toilet training bit
i hear there are some dodgy rescue centers out there but im assuming that gerry greens isn't one of em?
