Rebel Energy Failure

When I check back to my welcoming e-mail from Ebico Living / Rebel Energy on 20 Jan 2025 they say

 "We'll ask you to provide your meter readings soon, which we will send to your current supplier so they could provide you with the final bill"

The next e-mail I got from them was on the 21 Jan 2025 which stated that the new tariff would start on 25 Jan 2025 and said 

 "You will receive another e-mail from us asking you to provide us with your first meter reading, which will then be used to close your old account with your current supplier and open a new account with Ebico Living"

I never received the e-mail requesting meter readings but took the meter readings on 25 Jan 2025, phoned them up to give them the readings (and to complain that the direct debit amount in my welcome pack was different to that of my quote - it was a sh*t show from the very beginning) and followed it up with an e-mail.

So it looks like I never directly supplied Octopus with a closing reading but they received it through Ebico / Rebel Energy. Octopus supplied me with a final bill early in February based on the correct readings I had supplied to Ebico / Rebel Energy. Ebico / Rebel Energy billed me at the end of February with the incorrect reading for 25 Jan which they had marked on the bill as an actual reading not an estimate. No idea where that reading came from. So Rebel Energy are double billing me, not Octopus.
