investment ISA

I have an Investment ISA with Fidelity as well as a larger investment portfolio again with Fidelity for 4 years. I'm 64 years old and retired and my husband has recently retired with just a small Govt pension. I'm feeling like I no longer have any risk appetite as these funds are all the savings we have. My investments only recently started to make gains and i would like to safeguard my money somewhere where there is no risk of losing everything in these volatile times

There's unlikely to be a risk of losing everything, and current times aren't really unusually volatile in the context of long term investing, but if you don't have any cash savings and everything is invested, then in principle it would indeed be prudent to derisk at least some of your portfolio.
How much are we talking about, and what is it invested in at the moment?0 -
One option would be to switch your funds with funds that invest in gilts/bonds. These are much more stable than equities. But this would be fairly extreme in my opinion.I hold a fairly balanced portfolio of UK stocks which trade across the world...then I also have Premium Bonds to balance lower the risk. So I would suggest your investments are medium-to-low risk an that you have a cash element.1
