Sunnier March = warmer house for me, regardless of whether it's colder. I have halved my February usage by switching off the hall, kitchen and bedroom storage heaters. Now the living room storage heater has been off since Friday.

    March 2024 = 765kWh
    March 2025 = 680kWh

So not much different for us, only around a 10% reduction.

We have not turned the heating off yet as we are still having some chilly mornings but it really isn't coming on much now so it is almost time to turn it off for the summer.

Yes a lot lower. But this winter I’ve got a second wood delivery which I wouldn’t usually have, so it’s not been cold enough for me to put the heating on but it has been cool enough to need the log burner on for the evenings downstairs more than usual.

But this year is only about £5 cheaper for unit costs so it’s a good job it’s been warmer

I think early march was colder than recent years here.  But has warmed up in the past week or two.

    March 2024: 706kWh
    March 2025: 594kWh

However, 2024 was around £9 cheaper.

    March 2024 = 857kWh
    March 2025 = 672kWh

    I make that around a 22% reduction.

Checked my data now.  This is even more apparent considering my old boiler used so much more gas to do same thing.

March 2024 272 kWh  (not massively more than my summer usage on old boiler, so probably barely used the heating).
March 2025 361 kWh. (used boiler for a lot of the first 2 weeks of march, after that just few days short heating and hot water).
