Evri failed delivery

Hi,
I sent a parcel abroad in November last year. The parcel was never delivered and was declared lost. I've been trying to get a full compensation. They've asked me for the following:
I provided all the info, waited nearly 2 months for a reply and now they're asking for a paper receipt which I never got and was never offered in the first place. What happened was the clerk put all the details in the system, printed the label and scanned it and said that was it and that I should receive an email from them. The email is all I have.
I've explained to Evri that this happened and they claim customers always get two receipts and they can't proceed with the claim unless I provide the receipt. Is that £100+ gone down the drain or is there something I can do?

Does the email prove the item was sent as addressed OP?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Sorry, meant to put it as quotes, not code:
Parcel contents
Packaging details
Delivery address
Delivery postcode
Selling price/value
Postage cost
eBay item number (if applicable)
So that we can assess your claim, please attach a proof of value for the contents of your parcel, such as a PayPal invoice, scanned receipts, screenshot or a document that shows the payment transaction details.0 -
Where did it get lost?
Did you take out the extra cover (which is not ins) in case this happened?Life in the slow lane0 -
It got lost abroad - DHL couldn't scan the label and tried to return it to me. Needless to say I never got it back. No extra cover, just the regular Evri international postage.0

They will advise on taking this further outside of EvriIn the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
In addition to the above Consumer Action Group thread, this complementary article here on MSE gives very clear step-by-step instructions for the same process:
