Putting £4k into a LISA now….bonus?

Hi there,
if my daughter (18) opens a brand new LISA now (1st April), will she get the bonus for this year and then be able to put £4k in again next month?

Hopefully this is a stupid question. But I feel like I’ve seen something to say there is a delay in the bonus being added.

Yes and yes. The delay is that she would not be able to withdraw without penalty until 12 months after the first deposit.

Yes, she'll get the bonus for this year and another one for next year. The bonus is paid monthly so you should have the full amount by the end of that month, but then you can't add to it again that year. 
Are you sure she will be able to open one in time?

no I have no idea if she will be able to open it in time. If it doesn’t work out, that’s ok. But worth looking into. Thanks!

Definitely worth considering as long as she understands the money is locked away until she is buying a house or turns 60.
