    @MeteredOut, still following!

I'm going to hang in for the 3 months for the cashback and then see what's available.

Just wondering whether TCB and EDF will allow another £50 switch at that point, if the rates suit of course.
I must have done something wrong with the v8, as my click never tracked in TCB, but I've got the confirmation with the v9 today and it is tracking with £25 pending.

this deal is looking good, i'm currently on a fix with octopus gas 5.52 till boxing day and with this deal 5.54 till aug26 electric is on par with octopus current fix and edf offering a lot lower SC
    this is very tempting
come on octopus latest deals has went sour lately
or are we expecting a price war on the horizon

Just checked with EDF and the cheap buggers are saying I will have to pay the exit fees if I jump to V9. Not sure if to chance it as they said that last time I did an internal switch and the fees weren't applied.

    Cheers

Phoned today but they've already rolled over to Simply Fixed Direct Aug26.

Unit rate was fractionally (0.02p)  higher than v9 but SC is 7.9p/day higher for my region.

Was offered & signed up for Renewal Exclusive Fixed Oct26v4, same SC as the Aug26 fix, but unit rate is 5% lower. Exit fee of £25 and adviser was very clear that applies to internal switches.

So I'm now paying the same unit rate as the 1 year fix I've just rolled off, but SC is 3p/day higher. I'll couunt that as a win vs sone of the recent fixes available - including Jul26v2 which I had signed up for in preparation for the fix ending. Other usage cases may vary.

For me, the unit rate on the Aug26 is the same at 5.52p I got on the July26v9, but the SC would increase from 25.92p to 33.82p. So, sticking where i am.

That's what I'm doing. I just put the figures into my spreadsheet and while it looks like a saving because the lower rates cancel out the higher standing changes, it will end up costing me more if I only end up keeping the tariff over the summer.

Simply Fixed Direct Aug26v2  back to lower SC, higher electricity unit rate.

Wow these things move fast Aug26v2 now 5.48p/kWh and 25.92 SC for me, so 0.04p/kWh cheaper than what I'm on. Since my cashback tracked on my last move, I think i'll stay where I am though, for the sake of £6 (based on my annual usage).

You're not wrong, blink and you'll miss it.

My SFD July26 (v1) started today.

    SFD Aug26 saves me £18/year, SFD Aug26v2 is £53.

As I only have to wait 3 months to get the £50 from TCB I'm going to stick for now and hope Trump, Putin and Zelensky end the war and rates in August will be lower with the possibility of nabbing another TCB bung.

Can anyone advise whether I should switch to this EDF Simply Fixed Direct Aug26v2 or stick with my current Octopus tariff?

Current Octupus is: Gas - 5.72 unit rate, 29.34 standing charge / Electric - 24.54 unit rate, 55.79 standing charge
And EDf is: Gas - 5.61 unit rate, 25.58 standing charge / Electric - 25.79 unit rate, 41.17 standing charge

There's no exit fee and I'd go through TCB too - it seems like a good idea, but any reason to not go for it?
