like I said I now owe the finance company £4.9k but remember about the credit card deposit, the car wasn’t fit for purpose (so was faulty) Ford use a wet belt that deteriorates and destroys engines, before the termination I tried to get goodwill from Ford for the new engine they wanted which they wanted £8k for which I didn’t have.. tried to fight the finance company without luck because it had been longer than 6 months…
can section 75 help? Apparently they would’ve paid for an engine? Can they help with the outstanding £4.9k?
But did you get a independent report on the car?
As even then S75 does not cover lack of maintenance etc & car breaking down. Do you have a full service history?
Sorry, but you can hardly say a 4 year old car, which you used for 17 months & did 7K miles in a year is not fit for purpose.
Yet another case of buying a old (4YO) car on long term finance. Then a issue with it breaking down & not being able to afford & then left to still pay the finance.🤷♀️
would a s75 work for a car that is designed with a faulty belt design?0 -

How old is the car?
What is the recommended replacement age for the belt?
What proof do you have for that statement?
Do you have proof that the belt was changed before you bought the car?0 -

If, in a few years' time, scrapyards are full of wet-belt motors that have failed prematurely, there might be a greater argument, but that doesn't help you now.1 -

Never mentioned new cars & know all about wet belts.
Sadly S75 is unlikely to cover this.
But can you answer.
Has the car full service history, & a report on the failure. which might help.
What type of finance was used, as again that may have S75 cover.
Bank loan will not, but PCP will.Life in the slow lane0 -
