Is there any broadband company that has monthly contracts for FTTP broadband?
My area has just been upgraded to FTTP and I want to try it to see if it is better than Virgin Media as I am still under contract to them but I want to get it installed before I cancel Virgin Media at the end of my contract if they don't reduce what I will be paying to match what I can get FTTP which I don't think they will.
My end of contract payments are going from £58 a month to £98 a month and I can get FTTP for £33 a month.

Unlikely you'll find a monthly FTTP provider.
In my experience you'll find FTTP much better than FTTC or ADSL. And if the provider offers a speed that's what you'll get. The main difference tends to be the quality of the provided router and customer service.
Just wait until you are in your last month and see what Virgin will offer you.0 -
There are some out there, I know A&A offer it https://www.aa.net.uk/broadband/home1/fttp-prices/0

Who is the infrastructure supplier? OpenReach, CityFibre or some other Alt-net?

I doubt you would be either. If it's crap you're down £100+, if it's great you're still down £100+
If you can save ~£25/m on an FTTP provider and they're offering a 12 month contract I'd just go for that. Worst case, you only have to put up with them for about 8 months before breaking even and going back to VM.1
