So will the changes not go to the house of Lords and be subject to the traditional ping pong back and forth with ammendments?

I would apply the COC at the time of the light touch review, then look at MR and Appeal if necessary.

At the end of the day it is your decision and you've clearly done plenty thinking about it. Obviously my advice was to go the other direction... and a reminder that my advice also accommodates what you've effectively signed up for in terms of responsibilities by accepting the benefit. Your commitment is not to report changes that require more or less health when you feel like it or it suits you... but when they happen. So just be aware of that... you are somewhat protected in that you'd be claiming to have deteriorated health and more disablement and thus would be the one to lose out rather than gain public funds not entitled to.

Report a change to your needs or circumstances

You must contact the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) enquiry line straight away if:

    • you need more or less help with daily living and mobility tasks
I do understand what you mean and the advice to go the route you have.  I'm just not full of confidence I'm ready to cope with a COC right now.  I've been really ill in the last 12 months and progress is so slow.  Nothing is set in stone though, I could do with knowing how long the delays are here in Scarborough.  I know we have our own centre for assessments now, so I can't see it being that long??

It is so difficult to know what to do for the best??

It will do,but if the Commons doesn't back down the Lords nearly ways accepts the amendments won't be made. The Lords job is to improve a Bill not to frustrate the elected House.

the Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS), a service provided by Maximus UK, conducts PIP assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)

    https://haas.maximusuk.co.uk/benefits-we-assess/personal-independence-payment-pip/

The center may not speed things up, 25 in Yorkshire region. It is just a location where you might have to go for face to face assessment, most still seem to be phone.
As a guide we have one about 10 miles from us. Still took a year & was via phone.

They do need to get faster.
