New benefit cuts (how to find out if I lose PIP)

This is LR care and ESA premiums for being disabled
I'm changing over to UC at the minute (first payment will be in April) and I'm going over from the support group. Does that mean mine will be cut? I'm so confused as a lot of people already on it say they will be losing the health component, but then I see some places say that it's for new applications.0 -
New rules haven't come in yet so as you'll have migrated before they do you should be protected (to an extent - the health element will be frozen so cut slightly each year in real terms, but not in terms of the monetary amount).ev8 said:gbhxu said:For anyone who loses PIP care component and lives on their own, and have not migrated over to UC by then, you will be losing around £9250 a year!

As things stand in terms of proposals; getting UC claim in place with LCWRA (support group as it is known in ESA) would be protective of the health element amount at higher rate which they intend to cut the value of for new claimants (£50 instead of £97) after changes although it sounds like there may be another premium top up for the most severely disabled which is undescribed in any detail. As Spoonie says though the health element will be frozen in amount from next year until 2029/30 so it will lose value (offset a bit by an increase to the basic rate UC element).ev8 said:gbhxu said:For anyone who loses PIP care component and lives on their own, and have not migrated over to UC by then, you will be losing around £9250 a year!

At the moment all we have on the proposals in the government's green paper which is what they plan to do and consult on... and we have what the chancellor said in her budget speech earlier in the week which changed a couple of things regarding green paper... and we will get what ministers say time to time. The green paper is in link below.. it's a long hard often repetitive read.
(Changes since the green paper that were announced in budget by chancellor - the reduced rate for new claims of UC after changes will still be £50 but now frozen until 2029/30 and the UC basic rate uplift will see it at £106 per week rather than £107 as at specified time)
