Hi, I've today (26/3/25) received notice of a 56% water sewerage price rise from Southern Water wef. 1st April 2025 (letter dated 20/3/25) - surely this is insufficient notice of a price rise and a breach of OFWAT regulations?

When do you normally get the next year's notification?
What regulation do you think is being broken?0 -
Consumer Rights Act 2015, I can't see how this is reasonable notice? Also, OFGEM requires energy providers to give 30 days notice of price rises but I can't find similar details for OFWAT but I would have expected standards to be the same.Ayr_Rage said:When do you normally get the next year's notification?

Water bills usually descend in the last week or so of March and this year is no different - Unless you've been living under a rock the news has been full of it over at least the past month, much like the annual increase in rates, gas, leccy, mobile phones etc.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers3 -
Why would you expect the same?rugiada74 said:

As above, the information has been available for weeks.

Yes, i was aware of increases but my point is asking if one considers there has been a contractual or statutory breach.Ayr_Rage said:
