BT continues to charge me even though I switched provider using OTS.

Hi all who read this, hope you are well.
I switched my broadband provider after my contract finished with BT. My current provider did everything using that OTS system, had email of BT saying they have received the request for me to leave and if there's anything they can do to make me stay etc. Service got switched over on 27th December 2024. Sent their kit back on time too and had confirmation they received it.Yet they continued to bill me. Spoke to them and they said it was a technical issue that my account didn't get cancelled.
Would anyone know if I am eligible to any compensation? They offered me £20 on the chat, which I replied I'm not happy with but said that's all they can offer me.

What is your loss? You say they billed you, but I presume you cancelled your DD so they couldn't take any money? £20 sounds generous to me and you should snatch their hand off - unless I'm missing something?0

£20 seems more than generous, take it while its on offer.
What do you think you should get?0 -
As above, what is your actual loss?0

So how much were the fees?0
-
A little over £300

ok, so that's a quantifiable loss that you could argue they should refund and is not a million miles away from the £20 on offer0

That's what I thought, but I spoke to 2 agents and a manager yet £20 was all they were offering. I offered to show them bank statements with the charges but wouldn't budge. I have logged a complaint but just thought in the meantime if there was anything set by ofcom that someone knew, I could go back to them and present it0

Have you complained to your bank? The DD payments were unauthorised, the bank should refund them and might be able to reverse their fees too?N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
