  • I purchased two tickets for Andre Rieu at the Ovo Arena in Glasgow for my parents as a Christmas present.
Just after the transaction was completed I got my confirmation with a warning that the seats that I had just purchased had no lift access and were not suitable for accessibility challenged people.
I immediately contacted Ticketmaster to tell them that my father is a blue badge holder and walks with the aid of two crutches. He also had a heart condition.
He’s ok on a few steps but not massive flights with no lift access.
They told me to contact the venue which I did and they sent me back to Ticketmaster.
after a long time of trying they told me that if I purchased another two tickets in a suitable seats then they would refund my original purchase.
As it’s such a large concert there are no original tickets available but there are verified resale tickets being sold on the Ticketmaster site.
Before purchasing these tickets I checked with them only to be told that they would not refund me the original tickets if I bought resale tickets. Even though they were being sold by Ticketmaster.
That did say that they would escalate it.
I received an email this afternoon from Dominic telling me that there was no accessible seats and that they do not offer refunds.
i responded to say that there were tickets but they were resale tickets and surely common sense would be to honour the same arrangement especially when it was not my fault.
I then received a response from Queenie saying that they  explain the terms and conditions through the purchasing process.

I emailed back refuting this as they did not inform me of the access arrangements prior to purchase and pleading to them to see common sense.

    My email bounced back…

    They had blocked me…

There is a warning on the Ticketmaster site about certain levels not being suitable for some people and that is before you buy.
There may not be any accessible seating left but there are plenty of available seats still on sale which dont require having to climb up or down any stairs.

There is a warning now, but since the OP specifically states that "they did not inform me of the access arrangements prior to purchase" and that the normally inflexible Ticketmaster have agreed to any sort of change, it seems likely that this warning has been added since OP purchased the tickets.

StevieGness, do you specifically require accessible seats? As swingaloo says, there seem to be more standard seats available than resale.
