If you are not prepared to learn how to operate your heat pump then you were not a suitable candidate for one. You'll have to put up with bigger bills and cooler bath water. Hopefully the next tenant will do better.chlyou4421 said:
I have no idea how to do this unfortunately. When I dropped to around 40 degrees the bath was not hot enough (I like to be roasting in the bath)Reed1 -
I agree with @Reed_Richards, if you dont put the effort in to learn how to use it properly then it will cost you more than it needs to and you wont be comfortable either.
They do work, and they can be economical but they have to be used properly to get the best out of themNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

This would be great thank you. It seems to be a Daikin Altherma 3m. Some of my settings are locked by the installer.QrizB said:

Have you got this controller or something different - https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=daikin+altherma+controller&mid=F18AED33FEBC689DE409F18AED33FEBC689DE409&FORM=VIRE
There are other Youtube videos as well as this one which show you how to tweak your settings
Just be a bit careful, decide what you want to change eg Hot water temperature and timings, Heating flow temperature and timings.
Write down the existing setting, so you can put it back if you don't get the desired effect. Also leave the system to settle down for a day or two to see what effect it has. If you turn down your flow temps it will take some time for the effects to be felt.
You could also check your energy consumption to see what effect is has - hopefully reducing it

to get access to the installer mode see here -Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
Depending on what access controllers you have, there could be a way of getting into installer settings. My hot water was set to reheat and I was able to turn this option off by getting into the installer settings.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

If you put up a few photos of your controller, thermostat and any other stuff that sits around the hot water tank - things like thermostats, control valves etc., someone may be able to help.
Over the years Daikin has had several different types of controller, installers have their own favourite thermostats, anything from an all singing and dancing Daikin Madoka, Hive or similar down to cheap and nasty. Even hot water cylinders come in a variety of sizes and configurations, some are pre-plumbed and others plumbed to the whim of the installer.
There really isn' twhat you might call a standard installation, everyone is a bit different but if we can see what sort of controls you've got then its a lot easier to give some helpNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

I think you are right, its just a smart thermostat which just turns the boiler on and off when it calls for heat, likewise, the hotwater control probably just operates the diverter valve. Not much different to running a gas boiler.QrizB said:chlyou4421 said:

In fact its a bit like controlling the speed of your car using the ignition switch to turn the engine on and off - pretty crude.
The heatpump controller is the device that controls the flow and hot water temperatures and that's what needs to be adjusted to optimise the heating
The Switchee looks like it has a facility to report heating and hot water usage back to a central point (not sure why a housing association would want to do that though) I know what I'd do if I had one.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
