Recently received my water bill from Seven Trent and it has increased by £200 on a unmetered supply, why dont they tell us how much on average how much a metered supply would cost.

Because an "average" is meaningless. Your home might be wildly different.
Most people save money with a water meter.
How big is your house? How many people live in it? Are you unusual in your water use, eg. own a swimming pool or ornamental fountain?

Apart from anything else it isn't really in their interests to get more people on a meter unless those people are using a lot more.  Think about it using these made up figures
1 million homes paying £500 on the rateable value
1 million homes paying £200 on the meter
All 2 million homes paying £200 on the meter  means they need a significant price increase for metered consumption.  They need the same income however they get it, so a lot of metered homes would be a little cross with them.

Isn't Severn Trent the one with a lot of coastline which means the actual water costs are a smaller portion than they are for other water companies, so a meter may be less beneficial.
