Simple_Sailor said:I did indeed use that defence as part of my defence, although it took some searching for as the sifting through the forum for "@shahib_02 defence" is a bit tricky to track down as its been referenced in several places but there is no direct link to the post itself.
Why are people searching when handed the username link? Have a look at your own username and what it shows. Have a look at mine. Every thread. Every post in order.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I tell people to adapt it and use it, not copy it, presumably the OP adapted paragraphs 2 & 3 and copied the rest
People should never blindly copy without checking that the facts fit their own case3 -

With regards to the link for "@shahib_02 defence" for a fairly new forum user that has come looking for information, just clicking the link only takes you to their Bio page where none of the analytics are clickable. Only after a bit of point and click over every section of the bio page do things start to become apparent. If you click the Activity box over under their Avatar, it just refreshes the page and doesn't show anything additional. If you click Threads or Comments then it refreshes the page and ONLY then sub lists either Threads or Comments.
In this case, clicking Threads, only reveals the singular thread that Shahib started and it is easily missed if you don't scroll down far enough, as it is not overly apparent that anything has changed on the page other than doing another pointless refresh.
As this is similar behavior to other clicks that reveal no additional information, it is easy to miss and disregard that anything having actually changed.
Unlike other forums, this click to reveal seems to be fairly unique to here and is not overly obvious for the new user/member, especially when there are several similar clicks that don't do anything.
Either way it is obscure, just like many Private Parking Firms and their T&Cs3 -
Personally, I have never liked the forum engine in use here, neither have many others
Glad to see that you are not the driver and stated it in your defence

I agree it's a bit hidden (MSE towers could make it easier!) but I use a football forum plus I used pepipoo forum for years.
In my experience, threads & posts are always seen by clicking on a username. Normal for forums.
There's no way I'm putting a URL link to the actual post in the middle of the Template defence because people would just click on it and copy it (regardless of relevance).
It grates enough that we have to provide a template defence (at all) which I resisted for years. Only caved in because we were drowning in queries after DCB Legal invented themselves as the 'biggest bulk claim issuer' as if they thought that's a good thing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? I agree that a Hyperlink would lead to a lot of users looking for information to just click it and follow it as its the point and click reward for what you are looking, but it may be worthwhile drafting a template with this in specifically for the DCBL stuff.
Whilst the resources are very good, due to the nature of all of the claims being individual and all of the operators being slightly different, it is still a little disjointed and confusing in some places. Whilst reading others experiences and their defences for reference etc this can lead to incorrect information from old posts and users going off in the wrong direction or asking questions that have already been answered.
I am sure you must get frustrated with the shear amount of easily answered questions and mistakes of new and inexperienced users that end up here from a google search thats hit a post from several years ago.
The 12 step plan is very good and you have that much knowledge on this subject that you could set up a website
just to host the information in a clear and concise format that you can control and then just link back to that. It would be better than constantly answering questions where people have picked up outdated information from 2017 that you have no control over to delete on the forum.
Coupon-mad's definitive PCN resource.com
It would be better than all of these fly by night solicitors pages that give you just information to generate some hope and to get you to open your wallet and end up paying more than the parking charge is out of fear of getting a CCJ.
A lot of rich solicitors out there just as guilty as the Credit Clampers.
Just a thought.
Not everyone is clever and literate and there will be a ton of normal people that have been caught out that have no idea about how forums work or the internet in general that have come looking for help only to get caught in the tangled webs of Private Parking Charges.
Below: What i see as a new user when looking for shahib_02. The search function brings back endless hits where its been referenced and it takes some time to drill down and find the thing you are looking for... if you know what you are looking for lol
