Parking Eye Excessive Charge

Hi everyone,

Newbie here! I’ve read the Newbies thread and understand the general process, but I wanted to get some opinions.

I’ve already tried Plan A spoke to the shop where I parked, but they don’t own the land, just rent the space, so they can’t cancel the charge. The shop owner was actually frustrated with the landlord for hiring a parking company, as it’s negatively impacting their business!

I received a Parking Eye notice after parking in a small car park late at night. I’ll admit I didn’t check the signs properl lesson learned but they were there. Anyhoo

I only parked for a quick food pickup, which should’ve taken minutes, but the food took longer than expected, so I ended up staying about 30 minutes. The shop was closed where the car park was on, and the car park was nearly empty infact dead, with just four other cars and plenty of available spaces.

Now I’ve been hit with a £60 charge, even though the overnight parking fee is only £2.

I’m considering appealing on the grounds of excessive charge has anyone successfully disputed a PCN based on this argument?

Would appreciate any advice!
