I have a tall Beko machine that I got free 2 years ago and since day 1 it is nowhere near as good as my old one.
For example at max setting I can have something like a can of soft drink in it and it feels cool rather than cold and gets to room temperature quickly.
To be clear it is cooling as you can feel the cold on it but nothing feels chilled i.e when you put a bottle or can in the fridge you get condensation.
I get milk deliveries 4 days a week and even if I don't touch them they go off within about 4 days but have a use by of around 10 days after I get them.
I never hear the hum of the motor, unit isn't pushed right back against wall, does feel a little warm at back but nothing extreme.

I'd buy a separate fridge thermometer to test the temperature, the max ought to be 5 degrees c

If you don't already have one, get a fridge thermometer. That's the easiest way to check if it's working properly or not. Check temperature at the bottom and the top. Temperature should be between 3C and 5C.0

Sorry to ask, but are you sure you have used the controls the right way around, some fridges 1 is warmest and 5 is max cooling which can be the opposite to what makes sense...
. You should hear the compressor kick in when you turn it to 5

Haven't got a thermometer did think as I posted to get one, good point about the reverse settings will give it a try as don't hear anything on max.0

Google/AI says this,For Beko fridge temperature settings, generally, a higher number on the dial means a colder temperature, with 5 being the coldest and 1 being the warmest.

Had another look and it was set at 3, and I could hear the hum but it was low, also forgot there's a fan inside the fridge and that was turning at a low speed.
If it's still not cooling great will buy a replacement, I like when drinks are so cold you can barely hold them not ones that are more cool than cold.0 -

Nor sure if it was a problem from the beginning and/or we just got used to it, but it also never really got drinks that cold, and milk never lasted that long.
Anyway it broke down, so replaced it with a similar size Indesit and everything has been OK.
It is set on 3.5 and anything on the bottom two shelves gets properly cold and stays fresh for much longer. As normal, it is not quite so cold on the Top shelf or in the door.
