APCOA - parking fine

I parked in an Apcoa car park at the train station and paid by app. I approved the transaction with my banking app, but the transaction was cancelled by my bank, without my knowledge. It looked like the payment had been successful from my side. I couldn’t find a record of it in the app later, but I have noticed this happening before. I didn’t get an email receipt either. I was trying to send it to my company for expenses when I discovered that the transaction hadn’t been made. I had to check with my bank why it hadn’t gone through even though I’d approved it and that’s how I found out that they had cancelled it. I had some communication with Apcoa where I’d asked for the receipt and explained I couldn’t find in the app or on my bank statement. I didn’t state that I was driving the car, but I did say that I had paid for parking via the app and gave some explanation. 

How do I manage this situation to avoid a fine for something that was caused by my bank and not clear from the Apcoa app?
