Currently with Outfox the Market on a fix the is due to end in very early August. Apparently I can change to another fix without waiting for my current one to end, with them, without having to pay an exit fee.

What version are you on, according to this listing all July and August fixes have exit fees.

The question was actually about whether it's worth waiting until later in the year or instead grabbing what's on offer right now.

This was the best answer.  "You'll need to do the sums and make your own choice"
How I do "sums" when I don't have the info I need to do that? I don't own a crystal ball...........
Yet you expect someone on here to have one? If it’s cheaper now and no exit fees then switch.
    I was looking for opinions............
If someone says "go for a new fix" and someone else says "stay until your current fix ends", which one will you go with?

Because, without details of your current tariff, and you're region, no-one call tell you whether it'd be better to wait or not. Hence the recommendation to do a calculation.

I read what people have to say, then come to my own decision, Isn't that how it normally works? :/

My current tariff is Fix'd Dual Jul24 v3.0,and I live in Kent. Not sure what different that makes though, since, as far as I can see, the important factors are where energy prices are going in the future, and what deals are going to be available in a few months' time.

I've just seen the tariff I was looking at has gone! The new one has a more expensive electricity rate!

No-one here could give you advice without you providing the information you've now provided. If you provide your actual kWh usage too, it can be used to determine whether switching now, or waiting until the end of your fix, would be financially better for you.

No-one here can tell you where energy prices are going in future and what deals are going to be available in a few months time. So, if that is your actual question (as opposed to what's best to do with the data we know), you might as well toss a coin.
  • It really depends on your usage and risk appetite. If the new fix is cheaper overall and works better for your electricity heavy usage, it could be worth switching now. But if you think rates might drop later in the year, holding off could be an option too. No exit fee means you’ve got flexibility, so it’s worth weighing up the pros and cons!
