Help Norton Internet Security has run out today

What freebies can i use to make sure computer is safe until i can go get a new one?

And..

Do you recomend Norton Internet Security again or is another one better. I am using Vista?

    Almost anything and everything is better than Norton.

    You should be grateful Norton has run out :j ... Try AVG its free, and its better imho........ Vista has its own firewall, and its own spyware protection...

    Go with what you preffer..

    Depending on what sites you go to and what surveys you see there is no clear winner..

    Eset actually rates AVG as one of the worst on the market..

    From talking to friends (no expert), I think you have to be careful about switching from Norton to a different provider - historically, you had to ensure you thoroughly removed Norton first, otherwise it would make life really difficult.

    Does anyone have more information on this? Or am I seriously out-of-date?

    From talking to friends (no expert), I think you have to be careful about switching from Norton to a different provider - historically, you had to ensure you thoroughly removed Norton first, otherwise it would make life really difficult.

    Just use the removal tool here before you install a replacement package.

    Actually trying to remove it now but can for the life of me see add/remove programmes in control panel in vista.

    Download the Norton Removal Tool from HERE

    Remove Norton, reboot and install your new free av program
