How to stop double spacing

Another bugbear about this website is the double spacing used on posts, I don't have double spacing when I am writing so why does the site force it upon us, it takes up so much extra screen estate.
Maybe there is a solution but it is not apparent.

Is the double spacing issue the one discussed in the existing thread?

https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6587671/too-much-white-spaceNO, it is the spacing between each line of a post. Normally if a post to a threat exceeds one line it carries on to the next line automatically, it does this until the user presses the Enter key twice because they want to end a paragraph. At that point of hitting a new paragraph instead of getting the text posted as it is being shown during the editing mode with nice tight lines and a space between paragraphs we get a line between each line of text within the paragraph making the thread take up much more space. Now you can see in the image how it looks as I write this, with a space between the paragraphs as usual. My investigations have figured out what is happening technically, basically the editor is creating loads of DIV's where they are not necessary, all that is needed is a BR to start a new paragraph. So if I look at this post in code by toggling the HTML view you can see it has way too many DIV's, it is using two DIV's per BR when it does not need them0 -
Hi @Bronvahl
The later posts in that thread were about the double-spacing you describe.
And my answer there addresses it:I'm afraid it's very unlikely any issues with the editor will be fixed. Apart from the ones you've discovered, there are several more that only effect users using certain devices.
We are currently using a legacy editor which isn't receiving any updates.
We attempted to move to a new editor previously, but had to roll back because of several bugs and differences our members did not like.
The bugs have been fixed, but it's still lacking a 'partial quote' feature, which we're still advocating for and hoping will be considered to be included before we move to the new editor.

Well it is interesting because my most recent post before this post was not affected

So here is what exactly is happeningThis is what a double spaced post looks like. When we edit we do not see these extra linesWhen we look at the HTML code we can see the problem is too many DIVS,So the solution seems to be to stop the forum software adding an extra set of DIVSSo when we trim out these DIV's we get thisI could do that for my posts but not for everyone else, it seems clear to me that there is a setting somewhere in the forum software that is telling it to pad an extra set of divs which is totally unnecessary. By sticking all the /DIVs at the end the issue is resolved by the editor0

Hi again @Bronvahl
The editor does not come with any configuration options for us to change. It was purpose-built by provider specifically for an older kind of theme.
As I previously mentioned, there are several bugs, including the ones you've discovered, which won't be addressed because there is a new Editor available that was designed specifically to work with the modern theme.
We can move to the new Editor at any time, but our members have previously indicated that they strongly prefer some of the features of this editor - especially the ability to partially-quote posts.
