    I have noticed that some planters don't have drainage holes so if this is a concern, be sure to drill from the bottom before filling it up!

    I prefer to put drainage holes in the side walls about 50 mm from base and fill the bottom 50 mm with pea gravel.That way there is a reservoir that plant roots can reach and soil does not get too soggy.
