Query moving to new area Legacy benefits to UC

Hello
We are a mixed age couple (my partner is of State Pension Age) and I am in the ESA support group also DLA High care Low mob my partner has state pension and High PIP So still on legacy benefits, including Housing Benefit.
We are possibly moving to a different council area very soon if all goes well and I know this will make us move onto Universal Credit
What would be the process of moving over as such, regarding the UC and closing the HB claim for the current property.
Do you basically just APPLY FOR UC and put when you moved in the new property and all the other info they need
And close the HB claim under change of circumstance for the older property ?
How long do you get to do this, is there a time limit at all when you have to update the information at all ?
Also will this move make my DLA end and ask to apply for PIP ?
Just want to make sure I do it in the correct way

Your DLA will continue alongside Universal Credit until or if they contact you for assessment or ask you to apply for PIP
Once you move then claim UC that will end the Housing Benefit entitlement remember they are only interested once the change happens.- If one person is state pension age and the other is not, and you were receiving Housing Benefit before 15 May 2019, your situation may be "protected" and you may be able to continue receiving Housing Benefit, but a move to a different council area will end this.

Do I inform HB I have moved our will that be automatically done by UC ?
Also is there a maximum time limit within I have to inform them at all ? Is it within a month ?
Thank you

You might already know, but when your HB ends you will get a 2 week run on from that and also ESA if it's income related.Spicedpumpkin said:

Do you know the maximum time I have to inform HB and apply for the a new UC claim at all?
I possibly (if all goes to plan and we like it ) and maybe moving from London to a place 4 hours away, and its happened very quickly without notice......and if there is a slight grace period of doing paperwork I would be grateful
Many thanks0 -
I don't suppose your partner gets or qualifies for Pension Credit? If you had PC, then you could retain the HB as far as I'm aware.

OP is part of a mixed aged couple so no PC until they both reach SPANorthern_Wanderer said:I don't suppose your partner gets or qualifies for Pension Credit? If you had PC, then you could retain the HB as far as I'm aware.

You should start your claim on the day you move into new property. When you leave your old property the HB should end, if there is a delay in claiming UC then you don't get the 2 week run on as there would be a break.Spicedpumpkin said:Many thanks. I have a mix of IR and CB of ESA

Also you did delay your ESA would continue until you claimed UC but you wouldn't get anything toward your rent.
You can start a UC claim up to 30 days before submitting that claim, but if you go over that 30 days you would have to start again.
