Just wanted to say hi. I'm also neurodivergent! (Pretty sure I'm AuDHD). I've always had difficulty with self-control and impulsivity. I also self-excluded from gambling sites about 4 years ago. Sometimes I quuietly resent myself for it - but I know in the long term it is absolutely the best decision I've ever made.
Do you have any things you can sell? I sometimes like to check through my closet and see what I've not worn and stick it on Vinted.0 -

I will hopefully next week make contact with my GP and take the first step to some kind of formal diagnosis, I just get a bit frozen about starting things a lot if I know they're going to be quite drawn out processes and having to talk about it
Going through my wardrobe is on my to-do list for Saturday probably, I know for a fact I've got a couple of bodysuits with tags on that don't fit that I've just kept for no reason for ages (including two house moves)

This forum feels like such a safe space, I suppose as it's all quite anonymous really, but it's nice to have common ground with people going through the same challenges and similar end goals.
I'm officially an Olio fan! I've been looking on the app for about a week but have put off asking for anything, I don't know why, like I wrote above I freeze sometimes when wanting to do things but I put my big girl pants on today and went and collected some nice cheesy bread and salad bits, and tomorrow after work I'll be picking up some bread (which will just go in the freezer), some baby spinach, peppers and some leeks!
My brother is coming round on Saturday to help me pop some boxes in the loft that I got down when I was looking for the spare key for my old car, tonight I took advantage of the fact that my black bin was almost empty and is due to be emptied in the morning, and went through said boxes to throw out things I didn't need. 2 year old diaries, calendars, expired vitamins... jeez!
I also went through the freezer, I have this habit of when I've bought food and it's gone off before I've managed to use it, popping it in the freezer so it won't stink out the bin, then forgetting to put it in the binso that's all cleared out now too.
Rewarding myself with the tiniest measure of wine with a huge top-up of lemonade and some 75p carrot cake that was yellow-stickered when I popped in to pick up some laundry liquid. I won the wine a few weeks ago and until the end of last year I'd have drunk the bottle within a couple of nights of it being in the house no issue. But here we are weeks later and half a bottle still leftDry Jan was an eye opener for how much better I could feel day to day.

Double bubble overtime done, it was really good fun and didn't feel much like work with the work I was doing today, sat down for 5 minutes when I finally got home then popped out to pick up the Olio bits. Boy am I glad to finally be sitting down and chilling out for the evening. My friends have been asking me to go the pub but a) I can't afford it and b) I just reallllly want to laze around on my sofa anyway
I'm confident now I've got enough money left for food & petrol to see me through until payday, so I can breathe a sigh of relief now that I'm almost through the difficult month and onwards & upwards from hereStarting Total - £8586.09

I find these very helpful as I can just tap the card for each pot when I spend from it, so I can see what I've spent on each and how much is left in each one.
I Have just created some pots in Monzo and was wondering the best way to move it around when needed, can I ask how you spend from each pot by tapping card?
How do you tell it what pot you need to spend from?
It all sounds a lot more simple than the way I was going to do it (transfer to main Monzo whilst I am in petrol station etc)
thank you in advance and congrats on progress so far!I have looked and I don’t think I can have the virtual cards without upgrading the account so will do it the long winded way for now but appreciate you taking the time 😃Save £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28

Productive day here at Goose Towers, all caught up on general cleaning & made inroads with the washing. Boxes are back in the loft, wardrobe tidied up and organised - I've even done my first basket of ironing since I moved in last summergenerally it's just been 'grab an item from the clean washing pile in the spare room', helped my brother go through his clothes and we got rid of A LOT to donate. Now sitting soaking my feet in a spare washing up bowl (classy) for a DIY pedicure. Living the high life! A lot of today was in aid of making the second bedroom a functional spare room when I get a mattress dropped off in the week, so getting all of the clutter and piles of clothes sorted out.

Payslips are up and two good things:
- first pay slip with the annual pay rise (I don't know why but I was panicking it wouldn't have been done)
- it worked out about £50 more than I planned in my spreadsheet even after my £15 savings into credit union and a couple of other deductions coming to around £10. I must have based this off my pre-pay rise salary as when I popped it into the salary calculator to check where I might have missed something it came out as the right figure. So I can definitely afford the debt OP that will nudge me under £8k and I can put another £20 into my food budget for this month which will help for a few household bits I need to pick up (stain remover ((to keep my work shirts white)), air fryer liners, descaler for my kettle and shower head) and a bit of a cushion for my £20pw budget for actual food.
I'm going to do an early payday with Monzo tomorrow as I:
- Need to get my passport sorted and the sooner I can do it the better
- Need oil for my car, its low and I do not want to risk it
- Need to sort my car insurance which is due early May and I'm already anxious about it costing more for leaving it so late but I had no room in the budget this month
- Want to get the money for banking switch bonus put it sooner so I can move it back out sooner then I know I'll have completed all the steps for it
- Want to make my small payments that make up my debt OP so that when the direct debits come out, they will be done and dusted.
In terms of actual budget it won't impact too much, I'll do a food shop at the weekend but I'll be planning meals to cover the extra couple of days out of the first weeks budget, it's not like I'm going to race around the shops and blow all my money. The passport & car insurance are factored into my monthly budget, so the only 'extra' spend is going to be some oil for my car.
I do have a slight dilemma, I signed up for some OT in August during a music event as I thought our work had run out of reduced tickets. However, they sent out an email the other day with them even cheaper now, 50% off what general sale prices are. Less than £40, some of my family are going and it's a band I really want to see. It wouldn't be an issue for work to cover the shift but I've already worked out how much I would earn by working and it's a decent amount. But there will be other overtime to pick up during the summer I'm sure. The ticket's a steal, I'd have a great time I'm sure but my mind is conflicted now that I'm on this debt busting journey!Starting Total - £8586.09

On another note, as much as I said I wasn't going to spend loads of money early on, I found a sofa on FB Marketplace very reasonably priced and I have an inkling the guy delivering may want to buy what I've got as well as buying and selling sofa's seems to be what he does! So that is being delivered by him this eveningroom enough in the budget this month for it, it was something I had hoped to try and get with this pay check anyway, and I can finally be comfy in the living room in time for my days off from Saturday!

Just a little check in before my post-night shift nap
- Sofa is in, so SO comfy and perfect in the living room space. Still have the old one but plenty of interest in it. If it goes for what I've listed, it'll only have cost me £130 overall to replace.
- Debt OP's made
- Car insurance policy all set up, still having to pay monthly for hopefully the last time, but £20pm cheaper than my previous provider
Just need to sort my passport online this afternoon, pick up some car oil and do my food shop then I'll be all sortedStarting Total - £8586.09
