Car Parking Refund from Ryanair after they have cancelled a flight

I made a car parking booking via Ryanair at the same time that I booked my flights with them from Manchester Airport. A couple of weeks later Ryanair cancelled the return flight, so we had to rebook our return flights for a day earlier, as they had no seat availability on the original return date. Because the initial car parking was Meet and Greet, I requested for Ryanair to amend the original car parking booking arrival date to reflect the new flight return date.

The representative on chat said that the date could not be altered, but they would cancel my car parking booking and issue a refund within a few days. I then made alternative arrangements for car parking through another company.

Several weeks elapsed after returning from holiday and the refund had not been received. I contacted Ryanair customer services who said that because the car parking was with a third party, they could not issue a refund. Instead they sent me a link to Manchester Airport Car Parking.

However on the Manchester Airport Information that Ryanair sent to me it states ""Please note that your booking is non-cancellable. In the case of a flight cancellation or schedule change, please contact Ryanair customer service. For all other queries please contact Manchester Airport Group."

I have also phoned the Manchester Airport number on the link and they said that Ryanair should be processing the refund.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and managed to obtain a refund?

  • Yes I am having the same experience now this month and will never book car parking with Ryanair again. There is just as much discount by booking in advance with the airport. So I have lost the money even though Ryanair cancelled. Do you have any update?

The OP's post was nearly a year ago and they haven't logged on since unfortunately.

What do the terms say about cancelling the parking? Although booked through the Ryanair website, that doesn't necessarily mean cancellation of the flight will allow you to cancel the parking, as they're two different products and not sold as linked together.
