Abandoned by Ryan Air

We seem to have a situation not covered by the various sites we've been on. We were booked on a RyanAir flight back from Prague on 5th January to get into Stansted that morning. The flight was delayed, then cancelled and the replacement flight never flew and the NEXT flight was also cancelled and we finally flew back home the evening of the 6th March after a 36 hours delay. Ryan Air flew later booked passengers home whilst leaving us stranded at the airport as they obviously realised they'd hit max compensation for us and our fellow passengers but could avoid having to pay anything for later flights if they got them home within 3 hours. It was incredibly difficult for many passengers especially those with small children but RA didn't care and didn't even have a representative on site to address our concerns. My question is - are we entitled to just £220 per passenger or can we claim that times 3 flights?  The money back would be nice but I also want RyanAir to share some of the pain...

Surely it depends on the reason for the delay.

Ground operations are generally outsourced. That's the business model of budget airlines. When things go awry. You realise why the flights are so cheap. The operation is pared back to the bone.

As above, the reason for the cancellations will determine whether compensation is due - there was plenty of poor weather severely impacting flights to and from the UK that day, which will probably mean that the airline can claim this to be extraordinary circumstances denying any obligation to compensate.

The cancellations should be treated separately, so it's possible for some to warrant compensation and others not.

Regardless of reasons, they're obliged to arrange (or reimburse) costs of accommodation and meals while waiting.
