Hyundai bounces along the road.

My 2011 reg Hyundai i10 has developed a slight gentle bounce when I am driving at speed on a dual carriageway that I drive on two or three times a week.
I am of course used to it, even though it is noticeable, as is my wife but the other day I gave a friend a lift on a journey of 25 miles, 20 of them on a dual carriageway and they kept moaning that the bounce was making them feel sick.
They are not getting a lift again.
I blame it on the road as I do this journey two to three times a week.
So is it the road or my car and has anyone else noticed this about their car?
My car is getting an MOT tomorrow should I mention this?

Sounds like your shock absorbers are shot.4

Dampers.
The springs absorb shocks from the road.
The dampers dampen their movement. Or, in your case, don't.
MOT doesn't check effectiveness of dampers, only looks for leaks and worn bushes. Are you ONLY getting it tested, or will it be serviced, too?0 -

Bounce each corner of the car. It should settle straight back down. If it does not then something is wrong.
Have you looked at each corner to make sure that it all looks OK?Life in the slow lane0 -
I followed a car down the road the other day where the backend bounced up and down about 5 times every time it hit a slight bump. Made me feel sea sick so no idea how the driver was coping.
Clearly both rear shock absorbers were completely shot or absent.
Does yours bounce on front or rear.0 -
Well it passed it's MOT after it got a new Offside Front Suspension arm which was corroded and seriously weakened
No mention of dampers
There was mention of various parts of underside corroded and Nearside Front Suspension arm corroded but not seriously weakened.
I think my car is rusting away, time for a new one next year I think0 -
As long as they are not leaking they will pass an MOT even if they are totally shot and completely ineffective.
Good luck.1 -
