Trying to see if there is anyway of checking if a water bill is correct? With Anglian Water no meter, standard 3 bed house and our bill has increased to £949.34 this year which seems a huge leap! We have a fixed charge now on bill at £886.40. Charge for water £34.63 & Waste water £28.31. Cannot find a tool to check just ask Anglian Water!

The charges are detailed on their website, but that does seem about right, you would need your rateable value to be able to calculate the actual cost.

If you changed to a water meter you would likely see a significant reduction in your water bills, how much depends on the number of people, but two adults and two children would likely be half of your cost on rateable.

If you switch to a meter and it costs you more you can switch back within a particular time period. It’s paragraph 4.9 on page 16. https://www.anglianwater.co.uk/SysSiteAssets/household/customer-charges-2024-2025.pdf#page16

Anglian water charges have gone up by around 19-20% - have a shufti at their website for charges but if you go for a meter you could save around 50% compared with RV charges and you'll have control over how much its costs as you'll pay for what you use

How many people live in the house? As others have said for most households it is better to be metered than not and has been for quite a few years now.

Our metered 3 bed with Anglia Water is considerably less than your bill.

Hiya yeah the bill is correct, I'm in the same boat £958 for me I'm going down the meter route but I'm not happy about it they estimate £850 a year on the Anglian water calculator which saves £100 which will no doubt be wiped out on next year's increase.
