Can anyone advise what the difference would be with a new Epc between the 2 types. If you replace old storage heaters with modern High Heat Retention Storage Heaters such as Dimplex Quantums then you should expect your EPC rating to improve. Due to the way the methodology works, you may possibly only need one in the living room, and the presence of electric panel heaters in other rooms might not affect the rating, but this needs to be confirmed for your property with your energy assessor. Note that there are two upcoming changes due to the methodology which might change how this works in the future. If you replace the old storage heaters completely with 'conventional' (which I would read to mean electric panel heaters (of any type) regardless of them being Lot 20 compliant), expect your EPC rating to fall dramaticaly. Please don't do this, regardless of how convincing the sales literature is.All the information gathered during an EPC assessment is combined in a claculation to produce the final rating, which is related entirely to the cost (per square metre) of running the property, with standardised assumption of heating patterns. Therefore it's not possible to simply say what the rating difference would be for your specific property, and the best way of finding that out is to work with a local Domestic Energy Assessor, which I would recommend you do, before you make your decision, particularly as you are on the lower threshold of the C band. All the best.0
