BRSK vs VIRGIN ONT

I have decided to switch my ISP from Virgin to BRSK. I understand FTTP vs FTTC, however, will a BRSK ONT have to be installed next to the ‘yet to be defunct’ Virgin one, or would BRSK engineers likely take advantage of where Virgin have already accessed my property. My thought is that they will need to make their own independent installation without removing another ISP’s ONT. I only ask as the current  Virgin ONT is not hidden due to my room layout. Is it a case of how ever many ISPs I sign up to in the future, I could have a wall with multiple ONTs. 

I’ve always been with BT or TalkTalk before Virgin, whose ONT is a first for me. Although I am aware of the lingo etc, I am naive about the installation and don’t know what to expect.  Any feedback will be appreciated.

BRSK will instal their own ONT. They can't touch another providers installation.

BRSK often use Openreach infrastructure , so if you have overhead service , a cable from the telegraph pole , where it hits the house probably dictated by the existing Openreach bracket , but from there , you within reason can tell them where you want the CSP ( external wall block ) and ONT , if a Openreach duct exists then where it’s comes up against the house wall is fixed , but again within reason you can select where you want the ONT .
BRSK shouldn’t touch  Virgin or Openreach kit .
BRSK cannot use the Virgin ‘duct’ to your house , they either use Openreach or install their own , but installing their own is pretty rare , they pretty much leech onto Openreach infrastructure

When YouFibre rocked up to my place I asked if they could remove the old VM demarcation points and use the existing holes they refused.  But they did offer a screwdriver and say if you remove it yourself then we can use the holes.   So I did.

You need an individual ONT for each service provider you connect to, not ISP. And those ONT's are legally the property of the service provider they belong to which is why they tell you to leave them at the property if you move home. For example, we have Full Fibre, Nexfibre (Virgin Media) and Openreach service providers here but if I were to move from Sky to Plusnet - both via Openreach for example, they would use the same ONT (but would change the router as that's the ISP's responsibility unless you provide your own). You'd only need another ONT if you moved from Sky on Openreach to BeFibre on Full Fibre's network or Virgin Media on Nexfibre's network. ONT's are set-up for each service provider so you can't use the same ONT for different service providers.

Interesting read.
I have had VM and found I could have only VM.
Now have Open Reach and can choose several Providers competing with each other.
If I go with BRSK how do they operate?  I get impression they are like VM and not OR.

Is BRSKs cable separate to OR?

BRSK are like Virgin not Openreach , in that they are a vertically integrated network and ISP , they are the ISP , no other ISP’s are available on BRSK’s network ,they don’t offer a wholesale access to other ISP’s, they use Openreach poles , duct and jointboxes but not Openreach cables, ONT’s or CSP’s  , so as already stated , you get a new BRSK CSP and ONT

If you live somewhere served by all three, you could have BRSK, VM and OR equipment installed and switch between them to get your preferred bundle whenever your contract changes.
