OpenReach weirdness and router doubts

So..

ISP arrange fibre upgrade for 28/1 as ADSL line is being withdrawn.
Deal was unlimited data at £17.99 pm, now £24.99
Bought an upgraded router from them at £80

openReach visited for ONT install, to find the splitter had been improperly place outside our block, meaning connection would entail external drilling above 3rd floor
( neighbouring block, exactly the same design, had internal splitter, all floors now fibre enabled)

OR engineer raised a work order, said it should take a week for internal splitter install 
ISP,informed me OR had told them I cancelled the order …what?

Now they say they can’t connect at all
ISP sent a fibre request link to send to my Manageing Agents

They have offered SOGEA at £28.99 pm - but I am wary

I am considering using the 4g router I bought to cover the gap, and just using a Smarty unlimited sim at £20, and swerve my ISP and OR completely 

The only fibre I am getting is All Bran, just wondered y’ all’s’ advice
