Cash house buying companies!

Hi everyone, has anyone ever used a company called Bettermove, when selling their property? They can apparently sell within 30 days at a less reduced amount than the property value or buy for an even lower amount within 7 days, with no fees to the seller, only the purchaser. They are registered with ‘the property watchdog’ who give them very good remarks, but I’m wondering if they are also like an advertising agency for Bettermove. As you can tell, I’m not very trusting of anyone !! I’d be grateful if anyone has any knowledge/ information on them. Cheers, Unsure_2025

There are lots of threads on here about this sort of company and none of them have anything good to say3

they say "We operate under the brand name Property Watchdog and we run an investment newsletter where we promote and run marketing campaigns on behalf of some of the leading UK finance and investment brands to help them target their products and services.".
So not a watchdog at all.
Plenty of previous threads on the forum about the house-buying companies but general opinion is to avoid and just market in the usual way at an attractive price.0 -
If you are struggling to sell a property/get much interest, it is easier to just drop the asking price via the normal selling route ( via an estate agent normally) than get involved with these types of companies.1

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.2 -
As the previous posters have already said you will be much better off just selling through the traditional route but at a reduced price.
These property buying outfits are well known for offering low figures to start with and then reducing their offer further right before exchange.1 -

The aim of a business is to make money.
So they will work out what your house is worth (but a low estimate), then knock off a very large percentage they want as profit, then deduct all buying fees and fees to sell it again.
So you get a quick sale, and they make money.
Good for people who are desperate to sell quickly, but they are also known for dirty tactics of lowering the price at the last minute leaving you a dilemma of whether to accept the even lower price, or deal with whatever the desperation issue is that caused you to have to sell quickly in the first place.
The best option is to put it in a traditional auction at a very sensible price.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
